Vibration level – Please ensure that machine vibration levels do not exceed those specified by the Encoder
manufacturers.
Some presence of dust (also metallic dust) and oil in the atmosphere, but dust layers are not allowed to form on
the surface of servomotors. Overheating will occur as dust layers act as an insulator.
Motors are not to work offshore.
IP65 seal is against water only, excluding front face.
Other chemicals or substances should be checked independently.
Substances which could corrode or damage these materials should be assessed by machine builder and kept away
from the motor.
Unimotor UM should be installed in areas of low risk of mechanical danger as the feedback housing cover is held
onto the rear end frame via the green plastic moulding and should be protected from falling objects or being used
as a step.
Unimotor fm can be installed in areas of high risk of mechanical danger as the feedback is part of the rear end
frame.
Servicing and Warranty
The only servicing that should be performed is to clean the motor surface.
Do not use degreasing agents in the vicinity of the bearings.
The bearings are greased for life (20,000 hours). Unimotors are specified for 20,000 hours bearing life, under
normal load condition, after this period maintenance will be required. This should be carried out by CTDynamics
or at an approved repair centre.
Within the 2 year warranty period, which commences from the manufacturing date (MNFRD), CTDynamics will
repair or replace motors found to have suffered a failure due to materials, workmanship or design. Wherever
required, CTDynamics reserve the right to evaluate the application for correct engineering practice.
The warranty is void if the motor is dismantled or repaired by someone other than CTDynamics or at an
approved repair centre.
