hours with an original Briggs & Stratton filter.
∙ When refitting make sure the filter is fitted tightly and that the air filter lid is properly
closed.
∙ Do not forget to fit the pre-filter over the paper filter cartridge.
Ignition system
Caution! Be careful with electric current and hot engine parts
∙ Make sure that the engine is not running, the emergency stop button is pushed
and the engine is cold
The ignition system is maintenance free. Maintenance is restricted to the spark plug.
How to clean and check the spark plug
∙ Clean the area around the spark plug to avoid dirt from entering the cylinder.
∙ Remove both spark plugs and clean with a brass wire brush.
∙ Check the electrode gap; it must be 0.76 mm.
∙ Screw the spark plugs back in and tighten with max. 20 Nm tightening torque.
Valve play
∙ The valve play is critical to the engine's performance.
∙ If you notice a loss of power, have your Briggs&Stratton authorized repair service set
the valve play.
∙ This is not covered by your warranty!
∙ For more details on the combustion engine, please refer to the enclosed engine
operation manual!
Generator service
∙ Replace the carbon brushes on the generator approx. 2,000 h.
∙ If needed, use compressed air to blow dirt of the generator housing.
∙ Wear protective goggles!
Starter battery 12 V / 18 Ah, maintenance-free
∙ If the external temperature drops below -15°C remove the battery from the unit.
Keep the battery in a heated room and do not refit until immediately prior to next
starting.
∙ If the battery is maintenance-free maintenance work ist not necessary.
∙ Before recharging with a battery charger (12 V), make sure you disconnect the battery!
Switch box general information
∙ The switch box does not require any specific or regular maintenance.
∙ However, always have defective displays, switches, fuses, etc. replaced immediately.
Putting the power generator out of service
∙ For periods of non-use of the power generator of 2 months or more
∙ The included Briggs & Stratton engine operating instructions describes the correct
procedure for putting the engine out of service
