13.8.
Operation in Dust Containing Environments
The radial piston pumps may be operated only in conjunction with dusts with ignition- and
glowing temperature higher than 210°C.
Deposits on the pump surface e.g. dusts of a thickness more than 5 mm are not permitted!
The operator of radial piston pumps is obligated to ensure that the limit of deposits on the
pump surface will not be exceeded.
Cleaning work depends on formation and concentration of dusts.
DANGER
Danger of explosion due to impermissible heating up of the radial piston pump!
As a result of insufficient ventilation of the radial piston pump or deposits of dust and dirt
on the surface of radial piston pumps, the impermissible heating up of the pump can be
such that the maximum temperatures of the certified temperature classes are exceeded.
DANGER
Danger of explosion due to electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic discharges and sparking can occur due to cleaning the radial piston pump
from deposits and from dust.

The radial piston pumps must be checked regularly and cleaned if necessary.
Deposits of dust and dirt must be removed from the pump surface.
If necessary inform the responsible person immediately and stop operation of the
radial piston pump.
In hazardous location, only the usage of a suitable cleansing material and a
suitable cleaning method is allowed.
In case of cleaning the pumps standard EN 13463-1, paragraph 6.7.5 has to be
fulfilled.
