Troubleshooting Display problems
The display is not switched on:
• Check the connection to the vehicle battery.
• The voltage may not be sufficient to operate the tester (<1 volt).
Fully charge the battery and repeat the test.
• The 9-volt battery of the tester may need to be replaced. Insert a
new 9 V alkaline battery. See "Replacing the battery in the tester".
• If the tester does not switch on while the MENU button is pressed
(menu) is pressed and held, replace the 9 V battery.
Replacing the battery in the test device
The tester is powered by a 9 volt battery (alkaline recommended). This
allows testing of batteries whose voltage is less than 1 volt and, on the
other hand, is used to supply power while the options menu is active. If
the internal battery does not work, the tester can test batteries down to
5.5 volts.
NOTE: While you replace the 9-volt battery, the tester saves the setting
data.
1. Turn the test unit over so that the front is facing upwards.
2. Loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover with a small
Phillips screwdriver.
