Connect both clamps to the battery terminals.
One or both clamps do not have sufficient contact
with the battery terminals. Both clamps must be
tight on both sides before starting the test.
√ Move the clamps forward and backward to ensure
a good connection. If the message appears
again, clean the batte- ry poles and reconnect
the clamps.
√ You are performing a test outside the vehicle on a
battery whose voltage is not 12 volts or it is a
series connection of batteries. Separate the
batteries from each other and test them
individually.
The terminals are connected with the wrong polarity.
The positive and negative poles are reversed.
The battery has a surface charge after running the
engine or after charging. The tester may ask you to
remove the surface charge before starting the test.
√ Follow the instructions of the test device and
switch the headlights on or off. When the tester
has detected that the surface charge has been
removed, the test continues.
The tester has detected interference signals from
the computer or ignition or has detected a leakage
current. The test is carried out again. Make sure that
the ignition and all consumers are switched off and
the doors are closed. The tester repeats the test
automatically as soon as no more interference
signals are detected. If the message is displayed
again, proceed as follows:
√ Loosen the clamps and repeat the test.
√ You may be performing the test too close to a
source of interference, e.g. a charger or other
device with high power consumption. In this
case, increase the distance and repeat the test.
