Using a brush, remove any dirt from between the cooling fins on
the engine.
Cleaning the tank cap seal
Regularly clean tank cap seal and replace if damaged.
Cleaning the oil guide groove in the saw rail
Remove the saw rail.
Remove dirt from the oil guide groove using a suitable tool. (Use
a plastic spatula, not a steel tool!).
Re-attach the saw rail.
Servicing
Retensioning the saw chain (fig. M)
Lift the tip of the saw rail slightly and hold it.
Tighten the chain tension screw (20) until the chain is tight
against the underside of the bar.
The chain is correctly tensioned when it can be lifted by
5 mm in the middle of the saw rail.
Regrinding the saw chain
We recommend having the saw chain reground by specialist.
Cleaning the air filter (fig. A)
Push the lock button (7) up and remove the cover (6).
Remove the air filter.
Gently knock out the filter.
If desired, clean a heavily soiled filter in gasoline.
To do this, take the filter apart and brush the grids clean in petrol.
Reassemble the filter and let it dry.
Replace the filter and refit the cap.
If the machine is used without the air filter, the warranty
(guarantee) will be voided.
Adjusting the carburettor
This work may be carried out by a specialist workshop only.
Cleaning/replacing the fuel filter
This work may be carried out by a specialist workshop only.
Checking/replacing spark plug
Use only original spark plugs or ones approved by the manufacturer.
The correct electrode gap is 0,6–0,7 mm. After every 25 operating
hours take out the spark plug and check its condition.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Malfunctions that occur during use can often be easily remedied. If in doubt, consult a specialist.
Fault
The engine does not start.

TRANSPORT
Before transporting the appliance on or in a vehicle:
Short distances
STORAGE
Keep the appliance only in clean and dry rooms when the engine
is cold. During prolonged storage, e.g. in winter, ensure that the
appliance is protected against rust. At the end of the season or when
the appliance will not be used for longer than a month:
Cause
The operating switch is on Stop [0].
The fuel tank is empty.
The choke is not actuated.
The is engine flooded.
Old or incorrectly mixed fuel.
Dirty spark plug.
Switch off the engine and let it cool down.
Remove the spark plug cap.
Remove any debris from around the spark plug.
Use a spark plug wrench to loosen the spark plug counter
clockwise.
Check/set the electrode distance.
Screw the spark plug by hand and tighten with the spark plug
wrench to a torque of 12.3-13.5 Nm. Do not over tighten.
Replace damaged, sooted or dirty spark plug. Replace
damaged, sooted or dirty spark plug.
Before transporting the machine on or in a vehicle:
Let the machine cool down.
Engage the chain brake.
Place the protective cover on the saw rail.
Empty the fuel tank. Tighten the fuel cap securely.
Drain the chain oil.
Secure the machine against sliding during transport.
Place the protective cover on the saw rail.
Activate the chain brake.
Carry the machine by the hand grip.
Clean the appliance.
For a prolonged period of non-use always drain the chain
lubricating oil.
Drain all the fuel out of the tank and pour it into a container with
the same two-stroke mixture. Do not use any fuel which has
been stored for longer than 30 days.
To protect the metal parts from rust, wipe them all down with an
oiled cloth (resin-free oil) or apply an oil spray.
PPlace the protective cover on the saw rail.
Store the machine in a dry place.
Measure
Move the switch to On [I].".
Fill the fuel tank.
Actuate the choke.
Repeat the starting process without actuating
the choke.
Empty the tank/fill it with fresh fuel mixture.
Replace or clean the spark plug.
