ASSEMBLING
Risk of injury during operation!
Wear protective leather gloves.
Improperly attached parts may result in extremely serious or fatal
injuries when the machine is used! This machine may only be
switched on when all parts have been completely and securely
attached and no part is damaged!

Therefore, read the entire chapter before attaching the parts!

Attach the parts carefully and completely.

Use a tool if specified.
Parts may be attached and removed only when the motor
hasbeen switched off.
The teeth on the saw chain are very sharp! Wear
protective gloves when performing any work on the chain.
Risk of injury!
An incorrectly attached saw chain will cause the machine
to cut inan uncontrolled manner! Whenattaching the chain,
observe the specified running direction!
Attaching saw rail and saw chain
1. Attach saw rail and chain (fig. A + C - F)
2. Pull the hand guard (3) towards the front handle (4) to check that
the chain brake is not engaged.
3. Loosen the bar cover nuts (16) and remove the bar cover.
4. Attach the spike (15) with the supplied bolts and washers.
5. Place the elongated hole of the saw rail (1) on bolts (17).
6. Push the saw rail onto the chain wheel (18) as far as it will go.
When attaching the chain, ensure that it is seated correctly
in the guide groove (saw rail).
7. Place the saw chain (2) around the sprocket (18). Pay attention
to the running direction (fig. D).
8. Place the saw chain (2) around the saw rail (1). Start from the
top of the saw rail.
9. Place the bar cover (16) with the chain tensioner pin in the hole
in the saw rail.
10. Screw on the nut and tighten it by hand.
11. Turn the chain tension adjusting screw clockwise until the chain
is tight against the underside of the saw rail (1). While doing so,
pull the saw rail with the point upwards.
12. Tighten the nut.
The chain is correctly tensioned when it can be lifted by
5 mm in the middle of the saw rail. Always check chain
tension before using the machine!
Running in the saw chain
During the running-in time retension saw chain and rail after a
maximum of five cuts.
Checking the tension of the saw chain
The chain is correctly tensioned when the chain is positioned tightly
against the underside of the saw rail and can be moved easily by
hand. If necessary, re-adjust the chain tension (see "Cleaning and
maintenance").
