Is the power cord correctly connected to an outlet?
Are connecting cords and wires connected correctly?
Is the TIMER switch set to the OFF position?
Are the accidental erasure prevention tabs broken off of
the tape cassette?

@) Press the POWER switch to ON.
@) Press the EJECT button to open the
cassette door.
(3) Load the recording tape with the
exposed tape surface facing down.
NOTE:
When performing forward recording, make sure the
tape is wound fully onto the left reel; for reverse recor-
ding, the tape should be wound fully onto the right reel.

Use the MODE switch to select
whether one side or both sides of
the tape should be recorded.

(M ): Recording on one side only

m): Recording on both sides
NOTE:
Always start with forward recording when both sides of
a tape are to be recorded. It is not possible to switch
from reverse to forward recording.
Take note of the
direction in which the tape is traveling when recording
material mid-way through a tape.
©) Select the DOLBY NR switch posi-
tion.
@) Press the REC switch
Recording can be started on this unit by pressing only
the
REC
switch.
However,
pressing
both
the
REC
switch and the PAUSE ( HE ) switch will put the unit in-
to recording standby.
To begin recording from the
standby mode,
press the PAUSE
( BE ) switch once
more.

Press the stop (æ ) switch to stop
recording.
To
temporarily
stop
recording,
press
the
PAUSE
switch. To resume recording, press the PAUSE ( BE )
switch again.
Note on recording
e
When
this tape
deck
is used in combination
with
Pioneer's A-X900 or A-X700 stereo amplifier, do not
press the TAPE function switch during recording.
Recording
is not possible when the TAPE
switch is
pressed.
