RECORDING AND PLAYBACK USING
THE AUDIO TIMER
UNATTENDED RECORDING
1. Setthe POWER switches of the components to OFF and
connect them as shown in the figure.
2. Set the unit's TIMER switch to OFF.
3. Set the POWER switches of the components to ON and
turn down the volume control on the stereo amplifier.
4. Press the EJECT button to open the cassette door. Then
load the cassette tape with the exposed tape surface fac-
ing down.
5. Tune in the station whose program is to be recorded.
6. Select the DOLBY NR switch position .
7. Set the time on the audio timer so that the power comes
on at the desired time (this action switches off the power
to the audio components). =
8. Set the unit's TIMER switch to REC. The power comes
on at the preset time and recording starts automatically.

Connect the audio components in the same way as for
the unattended recording operation.
Set the unit's TIMER switch to OFF.
Set the POWER switches of the components to ON.
Press the EJECT button to open the cassette door. Then
load the cassette tape which is to be played back.
Select the DOLBY NR switch position.
Press the PLAY switch to start the tape running and ad-
just the stereo amplifier's volume control to the level re-
quired when timer playback starts.
Rewind the tape to the position where playback is to
start.
Set the time on the audio timer so that the power comes
on at the desired time (this action switches off the power
to the audio components).
Set the unit's TIMER switch to PLAY. The power will
come on at the preset time and playback will start
automatically.

tuner other than the Pioneer stereo
