@ The smoothing
capacitors (330 yu F X 3)
are charged with 260-
360 V.
@ To check continuity of
each circuit in the
outdoor electrical unit,
disconnect the white and
black wires which are
connected from the
diode stack to the ACT
module. (Also, be sure to
discharge the smoothing
capacitors.)
1. Turn off the power switch of the indoor unit or unplug its power cord from the AC
outlet.
2. After turning the power switch off, wait for at least 10 minutes, and then remove the
electrical unit cover. Fit a 30-75 W soldering iron to the receptacles of TAB 4 and TAB
5 white and black lead wires on the ACT module for at least 15 seconds, to discharge
the voltage at the smoothing capacitors.
3. Before checking the operation of each circuit, remove the receptacles of the white
and black lead wires which are connected from the diode stack to the ACT Module.
Do not use a soldering iron with a
transformer. It could blow the thermal
fuse inside the transformer.
Fit a soldering iron to the metallic sections
(receptactes) in the sleeves of TAB 4 and
TAB 5 on the ACT Module, as shown in the
figure, leaving the smoothing capacitors
connected. Then disconnect the white and
black wires from the diode stack
(corresponding to TAB 2 and TAB 4 on the
"ACT Module): power supply will stop.
