Installing the electronic control unit

Unscrew the cover of the control unit.
The connectors on the electronic control unit must
not be disconnected or connected unless the supply
voltage has been disconnected beforehand. Do not bend the
connectors when disconnecting!
Attach the control panel cable connector (1) to the red pin
strip of the control unit as shown in the figure.
If a time switch or remote sensor is installed, its connec-
tor must be attached to the black pin strip. When using
multiple accessories, the connection is made via a multiple
box (accessories).
Fix the lower section to an easily accessible area that is pro-
tected from moisture using 2 screws (must not be heated
above 65 °C).
Screw on the cover of the control unit.
If the heater is installed outside the vehicle, the electronic
control unit must be attached in the interior of the vehicle,
protected from moisture and damage. Drill an opening of
Ø 25 mm in the floor or wall, remove the connector (2) of
the 20-pin cable from the control unit and lead it through the
opening. Seal with a cable bush. Re-attach the connector.
In exceptional cases, the electronic control unit can be in-
stalled outside the vehicle with a protection box for external
electronics (accessory art. no. 39950-00).

12 V / 24 V Electrical connection

Electrical lines, switching and control equipment for heaters
must be in locations that will not cause the operation thereof
to be adversely affected under normal operating conditions.
The breakthroughs of all lines leading to the outside must be
protected from splash water.
Disconnect unit from power supply before starting to
work on electrical components. Switching off at the
control panel is insufficient!
The equipment must be disconnected from the on-board pow-
er supply when electric welding work is being carried out on
the body.
When reversing the polarity of the connections, there is
a risk of cable fire. Any warranty or liability claims will
also be invalidated!
The red cable is positive, the blue cable is negative!
Connect device to a fuse-protected on-board power supply
(central electrics 5 - 10 A) using a 2 x 1.5 mm
2 x 2.5 mm² cable for distances exceeding 6 metres. Connect
negative line to main ground connection. If the equipment is
connected directly to the battery, the positive and negative
lines must be protected. The connections must be of the Fas-
ton type and fully insulated (vehicle spade connector system
6.3 mm).
No other consumers must be connected to the supply line!

When power packs or power supply units are being
used, note that the output voltage is between 11 V and
15 V and the alternating current ripple is < 1.2 Vpp. We rec-
ommend the Truma automatic chargers for the various appli-
cations. Please contact your dealer. Other chargers may be
used only with a 12 V battery as a buffer.

Gas connection

The operating pressure of the gas supply (50 mbar)
must be the same as the operating pressure of the de-
vice (see type plate).
The Ø 8 mm gas supply pipe must be attached to the connec-
tor with a cutting ring screw fitting. Carefully counterhold with
another wrench when tightening!
The gas connection on the device may not be shortened or
bent.
Before connecting to the device, please ensure that the gas
ducts are free of dirt, shavings and the like!
The pipes must be routed in such a way that the device can
be removed again for service work.
The number of separation points in the gas supply line in
rooms used by persons must be limited to the technical
minimum.
The gas system must comply with the technical and admin-
istrative regulations of the country in which it is being used
from the average pressure regulator onwards. The national
legislation and regulations (e.g. DVGW Work Sheet G 609
draft for vehicles in Germany) must be observed.
After the gas system has been installed, the high-pressure
side must be subjected to a one-off check by a TÜV expert.

Function test

The leak tightness of the gas supply line must be tested using
the pressure drop method after installation. A test certificate
must be issued (e.g. in accordance with DVGW Worksheet
G 609 draft for vehicles in Germany).
Then test all device functions as described in the operating
instructions.
The operating instructions must be handed to the owner of
the vehicle with the warranty card completed.
Remove the type plate from the operating and installa-
tion instructions, and place on the heater in a clearly vis-
ible position where it will not be damaged. The year when the
equipment was first taken into operation must be indicated
with a cross on the type plate.

Warnings

The installer or vehicle owner must affix the yellow warning
information sticker that is provided with the unit to the vehicle
in a location that is clearly visible to all users. Missing stickers
are available from Truma on request.
