3. Hold the power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces, when performing an operation where
the digging accessory may contact hidden

4 . Never operate at higher speed than the maxi-
mum speed rating of the earth augering bit. At
h i g h e r s p e e d s , t h e b i t i s l i k e l y t o b e n d i f a l l o w e d
t o r o t a t e f r e e l y w i t h o u t c o n t a c t i n g t h e w o r k p i e c e ,
resulting in personal injury.
5. Always start earth augering at low speed and
with the earth augering tip in contact with the
ground. A t h i g h e r s p e e d s , t h e b i t i s l i k e l y t o b e n d
i f a l l o w e d t o r o t a t e f r e e l y w i t h o u t c o n t a c t i n g t h e
ground, resulting in personal injury.
6 . Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit
and do not apply excessive pressure. B i t s c a n

7. The outside diameter of the auger bit must be
ithin the drilling capacity specified in this
instruction manual. I n c o r r e c t l y s i z e d a u g e r b i t

remove the auger pin, use pliers to pull it out.
