3.2 Handlebar

1.
Loosen the screws on both sides of the handlebar stem and turn the handlebar
stem the right way. Ensure that the handlebar stem and the wheel are parallel
with the frame.
2. Then, tighten the upper screw until any gap of the stem with the spreading rings
is fully tightened. After this, tighten the two fastening screws of the handlebar
stem.
3. Remove the four fastening screws of the handlebar stem and the cover so that
you can get the handlebar to sit in place. Ensure that the handlebar is the right
way and central (the handlebar's coarse area indicates the centre of it).
4. Install the cover and four screws lightly in place. Adjust the handlebar to a sui-
table angle before tightening the screws to their final tension. Please note that
if your bicycle has an adjustable handlebar stem, adjusting it will also affect the
handlebar's angle. Then, tighten the adjustment screws of the stem to their final
tension.
5. Ensure the direction of the disp-
lay, bell, brake levers and shifting
lever so that they are easily visible
and accessible while riding. Each
of these components has its own
tensioning screw, which you can
loosen to adjust their angle.
6. Ensure the tensioning of the com-
ponents referred to in Section 4 to
make sure they do not move du-
ring use.

3.3 Pedals and crank arms

Check the markings on the pedals, L and R. They indicate the pedals' correct side as
seen by the rider (L for the left foot and R for the right foot).
The pedals' threads are different, so forcing the pedal on the wrong thread will
destroy the actual pedal and the crank arm's thread. Therefore, always check the
correct side before installation.
