6. Press the dust fi lter fi rmly back into the dust collector so it fi ts closely all round the wall of
the housing.
CAUTION: Never use the vacuum cleaner without the dust fi lter inserted.
Replacing the dust fi lter
It is necessary to replace the dust fi lter with a new one from time to time to ensure the vacuum
cleaner still performs at full capacity.
How often the dust fi lter has to be replaced depends on the level of use. With regular use this
is around every three months.
Always replace the dust fi lter if it is damaged or can no longer be cleaned properly.
Cleaning or replacing motor protection fi lter
1. Remove the motor protection fi lter from the appliance and bang off the dust.
2. Rinse with lukewarm water.
3. Then give the motor protection fi lter a good shake and leave to dry off completely.
CAUTION: Never insert the motor protection fi lter while still damp.
4. Check the motor protection fi lter for damage and replace with a new one if necessary.
5. Reinsert the motor protection fi lter.

Cleaning housing

Clean the housing with a slightly damp, soft cloth if necessary.
7. First insert the dust fi lter in the bottom of the appliance and
then close. Press the unlocking button for the dust collector to
engage. The dust collector must have securely engaged at the
top and bottom of the appliance.
Once you have removed the dust collector, you will fi nd a piece
of non-woven material on the open side of the appliance. This
is the motor protection fi lter. It needs to be cleaned from time
to time.
