11 Working with the hedge trimmer
11.1 Check working area
Check the work area for concealed electrical lines, wires or other objects that could cause injuries or damage
when using the power tool, and remove them.
Remove strong branches with a saw or loppers.
11.2 Assume work position
Always hold the power tool firmly with both hands. One hand on the handle, the other on the additional handle.
Bring your body and arms in a position in which you can withstand the kickback forces.
11.3 Trimming
You can achieve the best cutting performance if the power tool is guided in such a way that the knife teeth are
directed at an angle of approx. 15° to the hedge.
The side surfaces of a hedge are cut with acurate movements from bottom to top. The double-sided, counter-
rotating knives enable cutting in both directions.
If the device begins to vibrate abnormally, switch off the engine and investigate the cause immediately. Vibrations
are generally a warning of a malfunction.
If the device is blocked, switch it off immediately, remove the battery, and then remove the object. Put on protective
gloves to prevent cuts.
