The right cookware

NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper use may damage the appli-
ance or cooking utensils.
■ The solid plates may become dam-
aged if they are operated without
cookware or with empty cookware.

d1
The best thing to use is cookware for electric
hobs
– that matches the size of the solid plates.
The diameter d1 is always given as the
size of the pot or pan. Base diameter d2 is
always around 2 cm smaller.
– with sufficient base thickness, e.g. enam-
elled steel pans with a thickness of 2-3 mm
and stainless steel pans with a thickness
of 4-6 mm.
– Use only pots with clean and dry bases.
This will prevent damage to the solid plates.
Energy- and time-saving pressure
– cookers are also well-suited. The relative-
ly high purchase costs are quickly saved
again.
– Steel pots and pans as well as coated and
uncoated aluminium cookware with a thick
base. However, coated cookware must not
be overheated or scratched.
You should not use:
– Indented or battered pans
– Pans with a rough base
– Pans with a curved base
– Coated cookware that is scratched inside.

Tips for saving energy

– When cooking, always leave the lid on the
saucepan wherever possible. Liquids can
be brought to the boil more quickly with the
lid on than without.
– Only ever use high-quality, new saucepans
and pans. They lie flat on the solid plate
and therefore conduct energy more easi-
ly than cookware with a warped or dented
base.
– Turn the heat level down in time and con-
tinue to cook at the lowest possible setting.
– Always use pressure cooking saucepans
whenever possible. This will halve the
cooking process and you will save a lot of
energy.
– Only use as much water as you really need
to cook the food. A lot of energy is required
to warm up water.
