Solid plates and controllers
The cast hob has a large solid plate on the left
and a small solid plate on the right.
Every solid plate has its own power level con-
troller. The solid plates can also be used inde-
pendently of the oven.
• Turn the power level controller to the de-
sired level of heat as needed:
from gentle simmering to rapid bubbling.
The heat settings (0–3) can be seen on
the temperature controller.
The solid plate starts to heat up.
• Turn the power level controller to level "0"
to switch off the solid plate.

Using and caring for the hob
The settings are only meant as a guide. The
exact setting will depend on several factors,
including your cookware and the amount you
are cooking. Experiment with the hob to find
the settings that are best for you.
Cleaning solid plates and
appliance surfaces
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ Do not use a steam cleaner or pres-
sure cleaner to clean the hob. Steam
could get through cracks into live
electrical components of the hob and
cause short-circuiting.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The solid plates get very hot during op-
eration and will remain hot after they
are switched off.
■ Allow the solid plates to cool com-
pletely before cleaning.
Cleaning the solid plates
1. After cooling, thoroughly clean with warm
water and some washing-up liquid or
all-purpose cleaner.
2. Wipe or brush off dried-on food.
3. Clean with a hob cleaner or sewing ma-
chine oil; do not use cooking oil.
4. Thoroughly dry to protect the solid plates
from moisture and salt.
Cleaning the cooker surface
• Thoroughly clean painted surfaces with
warm water and some washing-up liquid
or all-purpose cleaner.
