4 Installation
4.1 Overview
This chapter contains all the information necessary for
installing the product.
The following steps must be performed only
by qualified personnel.

The safety of any system incorporating the
use of this product is the responsibility of the
operator of the system.
The product fulfills the requirements of
standard IEC 61010-1 only if the power to
the peripheral devices is supplied from a
secondary circuit with current limitation as per
IEC 61010-1 3rd Ed.
limitation as per IEC 60950-1
2.5 or from a Class 2 secondary circuit as
specified in UL1310.
In place of IEC 61010-1
corresponding sections of standards DIN EN
61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1 and CAN/
CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1can be used, and, in
place of IEC 60950-1
corresponding sections of standards DIN EN
60950-1, EN 60950-1, UL 60950-1, CAN/CSA-

NOTICE
Damage to the product and encoders!
Engaging or disengaging live connecting elements can
cause damage to the product or encoder.
Do not engage or disengage the cable between the
encoder and the product while under power

The product provides eight encoder inputs.
The eight inputs are grouped into four slots
with two encoder inputs each. The four slots
are labeled "Slot 1" to "Slot 4" on the product.
1 LEDs for displaying operating and error states
of the product
2 LEDs for the status display of slot 1.
Two LEDs are provided for each of the four
slots.
3 Encoder inputs of slot 1. Two encoder inputs
are provided for each of the four slots.
4 Trigger input and trigger output of slot 1. Two
inputs and two outputs are provided for each
slot.
5 Reset button
