Connecting subsequent electronics
for transmission of position data
Subsequent electronics for high-performance
transmission of position data can be connected via the
position data link connection (PDL).
For information on the location of the connection, see
"Rear panel", Page 29.
For pin layout of position data link connection (PDL), see
"L", Page 153.
4.8
Connecting analog sensors
Analog sensors can be connected to the ANALOG IN
connection.
For information on the location of the connection, see
"Rear panel", Page 29.
For ANALOG IN pin layout, see "I", Page 152.
The analog input signals (Analog Auxiliary
In+, Analog Auxiliary In–) and the analog
supply voltage (GND_Analog_AUX and
Vcc_Analog_AUX) are connected with each
other, but are electrically isolated from the
ground potential of the encoder connections
or the trigger connections.
The AUX connection on the rear panel of the
product is currently not supported.
4.9
Connecting the digital input and
remote reset
Eight differential digital inputs are provided at the DIGITAL
IN connection.
For information on the location of the connection, see
"Rear panel", Page 29.
For DIGITAL IN pin layout, see "O", Page 154.
Remote reset
The DIGITAL IN input additionally provides a differential
remote reset input. The remote reset input is used for
remote triggering of the reset function. This functions
identically to the Reset button on the front of the product.
The remote reset input signals (Remote Reset
+, Remote Reset –) and the digital inputs are
electrically isolated from the ground potential
of the encoder connections or the trigger
connections.

4.10 Connecting a computer

A computer can be connected to the LAN connection.
For information on the location of the connection, see
"Rear panel", Page 29.
For information on the technical requirements, see
"Specifications", Page 36. TCP/IP and UDP protocols
are required for communication.
Connect the Ethernet port of the computer to the LAN
connection using an Ethernet cable
The connection between the product and the
PC may be connected or disconnected even
while the product is switched on.
For LAN connection pin layout, see "J", Page 152.
Standard settings for the network parameters
Default address: 192.168.168.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.168.1
DHCP client: deactivated;
the duration of the boot phase may change if DHCP is
activated
The maximum time between "power-up" and "ready for
communication" is approx. 60 seconds. After updating
the software/firmware, the occurrence of errors or during
factory boot, the start-up time can take significantly
longer.
The network address of the product can be assigned
automatically via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) or entered manually. The DHCP configuration
for the product is described in the User's Manual for
Application Development, see "Notes on reading the
documentation", Page 22.
