Position the specimen holder under the quick coupling.
Press and hold the flange of the column down with the heel of
your hand while guiding the pressure tap of the specimen
holder into the coupling.
Turn the specimen holder until the three pins engage with the
corresponding holes.
Release the flange.
Press upwards with your fingers to lift the specimen holder
slightly. At the same time, press and hold down the flange with
the heel of your hand.
Using your fingers to support the specimen holder; lower it free
of the coupling.
Release the flange and completely remove the specimen holder.
Insert the specimen holder.
Ensure that the dressing arm is located in the "parked or
resting" position on the left-hand side of the machine and that
the sliding cover on the stone guard is located all the way to
the right.
Lower the shield.
Enter the GRINDING menu and set/check the correct time and
force.
Start the grinding process.
When the time has elapsed, the grinding stone will
automatically stop rotating and the specimen holder will
return to its initial position.
Press F1 to start the cooling water pump.
Swing the diamond tool to a position over the grinding stone
and move the diamond tool 2-6 times forwards and backwards
across the grinding stone.
Adjust the position of the diamond tool by pressing F3 or F4.
When the dressing is complete, swing the diamond tool back to
its "parked or resting" position.
Mount 3 aluminium oxide dressing sticks in a sample holder
and grind it for a few seconds.
