Safety
■ Do not place hot pots or pans on the
sensor fi eld. Otherwise the electronics
underneath may be damaged.
■ Do not push heavy pans across the
hob; this may scratch the glass cera-
mic.
Even if small objects just make slight
contact with the hob, they can dama-
ge the glass ceramic surface. For ex-
ample, do not allow salt and pepper
shakes to fall onto the hob from cabi-
nets above.
■ Do not allow objects to fall onto the
glass ceramic. Even small objects may
cause a great deal of damage if they
come into contact with glass ceramic
in a punctiform manner.
■ Wipe the glass ceramic surface and
the base of the pots before use to
remove any dirt that may cause
scratches.
■ Do not place any magnetisable ob-
jects (e.g. credit cards) near or on the
hob, as they may be damaged by the
electromagnetic fi eld.
■ Do not use the appliance as a work
surface or a storage area. Materials
which are sensitive to heat such as
plastic dishes could become dama-
ged if this is the case.
■ Do not use any harsh abrasive de-
tergents, scouring agents, abrasive
powder or steel sponges; they can
scratch the surface. This can destroy
the glass.
■ Clean and maintain the appliance
regularly with a special care product
containing a special impregnating oil
for glass hobs. Such products can be
found in specialist shops.
Risks when handling the glass
ceramic hob
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ If the surface is cracked, switch off
the appliance to avoid the possibility
of electric shock.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
The cooking zones get very hot during
operation and will remain hot after
they are switched off.
■ Do not store items that could be of
interest to children above or behind
the hob. Children could be encoura-
ged to climb onto the hob.
■ Do not leave pot/pan handles sticking
out over the edge of the worktop; this
ensures children cannot reach up and
pull down the cookware.
■ Always switch off the cooking zones/
areas yourself if you wish to stop a
cooking process. Cancelling the cook-
ing time limit does not end the cook-
ing process itself.
■ The cooking zones get very hot du-
ring operation and will remain hot
after they are switched off; this is
shown by the residual heat indicator.
■ If a mains failure occurs, the residu-
al heat indicator will go out and may
not indicate the presence of residual
heat.
