13. Maintenance and cleaning

a) General care and repair tips
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use abrasive cleaning
agents or chemical solutions, as these may damage the surface of the housing.
Damage to the hull should only be repaired using a water-insoluble glue that is suitable for ABS plastics. We recom-
mend a two-component epoxy resin based construction adhesive.
When replacing parts, only use the original spare parts offered by the manufacturer. The spare parts list
can be found on our website in the download area for the respective product.
b) Changing the propeller
Remove the locking nut (1) on the propeller (turn the lock-
ing nut to the left when looking at the propeller from be-
hind) and note the orientation of the locking nut.
In doing so, fix the drive shaft by inserting the included
2 mm hexagon key (2) into the grub screw (3) behind the
propeller and holding it there to prevent the drive shaft
from turning.
Then remove the propeller.
Put a new propeller in the correct orientation on the drive
shaft; the slot in the propeller points in the direction of the
model boat and must lie exactly on the tappet.
Secure the propeller with the previously removed locking nut (ensure the correct orientation; the plastic ring in the
locking nut should point backwards away from the propeller).
Before screwing the locking nut down, apply a small drop of thread locking compound on it so that it does
not get loose.
Warning!
Never operate the model boat with a defective or broken propeller. The resulting vibrations can cause even
greater damage to the model and drive shaft.
Check all screw connections on your model for tightness at regular intervals. All turning parts must be easily movable
and there should be no clearance in the bearing.
