Checking the Functionality of the Filter Cassettes

Make sure that the crossflow rate for the feed
is sufficient. Check to ensure that you have
adjusted a high crossflow rate at a low
transmembrane pressure. Your local Sartorius
Stedim Biotech field engineer can advise you
concerning the appropriate parameter settings
for your solution.
The pressure at the retentate inlet pinlet must
not exceed 43.5 psi (3 bar). Pressures higher than
43.5 psi (3 bar) will damage the filter cassettes or
lead to low product yields.
During filtration, the crossflow rate should be
held constant. If the viscosity increases during
filtration, increase the inlet pressure. This will
ensure a uniform cleaning effect on the
membrane surfaces.
