• Do not use the slow cooker to reheat food.
• Beans must be pre-cooked for 10 minutes to remove toxins.
• Ideal results are typically achieved when the pot is at least half full.
• Since the slow cooking method does not break down liquids, you can reduce
the amount of liquid, if necessary, by removing the lid and keeping the unit
running in the meantime.
• Typically, add 10 minutes to the targeted cooking time for each removal of the
lid during cooking.
• Should you be preparing soups, fill the pot to no more than 5 inches below the
rim.
• Some ingredients - such as pasta, seafood, milk and cream - are not suitable
for slow cooking and should be added at the beginning of a cooking process.
• The cooking results of individual foods depend on different variables •
as temperature, weight, and fat and water content.
• Foods that require longer cooking times should be placed in the lower part of
the slow cooker than foods that require shorter cooking times.
• When you turn off the appliance, there will be enough heat inside to keep the
food warm for 30 minutes. If a longer keep warm time is required, turn on the
lower heat setting.
• For taste reasons, it may be useful to fry some foods (meat, onions) in a pan.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Make sure the scg switch is in the OFF position, unit is unplugged and cooled
down before cleaning. The ceramic pot is not dishwasher safe, but you can clean
it with warm water and a little detergent. To remove stubborn stains, soak the pot
overnight and rinse the next day. Clean the outside with a damp cloth and dry it
afterwards. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads as they may damage
the surface. Also observe the following instructions:
• Never completely immerse the device in water or other liquids.
• Do not put the lid and the ceramic pot in the dishwasher, they could break.
• Do not put the lid in the refrigerator, it may break.
• When you take the ceramic pot out of the refrigerator, let it stand for 40
minutes before using it. Otherwise, it could break.
• Do not use the ceramic pot on gas stoves, otherwise it might break.
