3.12 Cleaning and conservation
3.12.1 Cleaning the engine
Cooling is reduced by a layer of dust on the coo-
ling ribs particualrly in conjunction with fuel and
lubrication oil. The method of cleaning depends
on the dirt.
•
Cleaning with a steam jet unit is preferable. It
is performed at a temperature of 80 to 90°C
and at a pressure of about 871 psi.
•
Only clean with compressed air if there is little
dirt and it is dry. Start blowing on the exhaust
air side.
•
When cleaning with water and a solvent, use
commercially available solvents which remove
dust together with fuel and lubricants. Apply
the solvent with a brush, allow it to act and
spray off with water.
Note:
Do not clean with fuel!
The cleaning action is minimal and both your
health and the environment are at risk.
•
Clean grilles, cooling fans and air deflector
plates.
•
Never aim directly at sensitive components,
e.g. impeller (risk of accident due to crack
formation).
3.12 Reinigen u. Konservieren
3.12.1 Motorreinigung
Staubiger Niederschlag auf den Kühlrippen, beson-
ders in Verbindung mit Kraftstoff und Schmieröl,
vermindert die Kühlung. Die Reinigungsart hängt von
der Verschmutzung ab.
•
Reinigung mit Dampfstrahlgerät ist vorzuziehen.
Sie erfolgt mit einer Temperatur von 80 bis 90 °C
und einem Druck von ca. 60 bar.
•
Die Reinigung mit Druckluft nur bei geringer,
trockener Verschmutzung anwenden. Mit dem
Ausblasen an der Abluftseite beginnen.
•
Bei Reinigung mit Wasser und Lösungsmittel
handelsübliche Lösungsmittel verwenden, die
Staub in Verbindung mit Kraftstoff und Schmier-
stoffe lösen. Dabei das Lösungsmittel mit einem
Pinsel auftragen, einwirken lassen und mit Was-
ser abspritzen.
Hinweis:
Nicht mit Kraftstoff reinigen!
Die Reinigungswirkung ist gering, Gesundheit und
Umwelt werden geschädigt.
•
Schutzgitter, Kühlgebläse und Luftleitbleche rei-
nigen.
•
Niemals direkt auf empfindliche Teile halten, wie
z.B. Lüfterrad (Unfallgefahr durch Rißbildung).
