Check! ATTENTION: No protective function by a wrongly inserted rope
The sides cannot be slid against each other by a properly closed device. Check if the rope has been inserted according to the label.
Functionality and safety check
Before securing the correct insertion and proper functioning of the device have to be checked by pulling the end of the rope leaving
the device (in the direction of the leader) with a jerk. If the rope has been inserted properly, the movable brake cam blocks any
further pulling of the rope leading to the leader.

Using the LORY as a securing and lowering device

How to anchor the device
Hook the karabiner into the provided eyelet on the device. Only use
(A)
karabiners with a lock safety device. Take care that the lock safety
device is closed correctly.
Anchor the safety device with tape sling (EN 566, EN 364) on an
(B)
appropriate and safe anchor point (EN 795). The device or the rope
must not be pressed or pushed against a building.
When securing the leader directly above the harness of the securing
(C)
person, the latter must also be secured with appropriate measures, so
that he cannot be pulled away when absorbing a fall of the leader.
In order to secure the leader and to handle the rope optimally, the
(D)
device should be anchored at a height of use, which corresponds
approximately to the abdominal level.
How to secure the leader Laying out the rope
One hand is on the arriving rope, the other one pulls out the rope leading
(e)
to the leader. Pull out the departing rope, which leads to the leader,
constantly (not jerkily - see figure)
If necessary hold the device by putting the thumb on the device.
The brake cam can be unlocked by slightly pushing against it, if it blocks
inadvertently while laying out the rope.
How to haul in or shorten the rope
Pull back the rope leading to the leader.
(F)
When hauling in the rope, the brake cam changes into a neutral position
and does not need to be operated.
Do not press your thumb on the brake cam!
how to haul in, tension and block the rope
Pull in the rope tightly (rope under tension) until the
(G)
brake cam snaps into the holding position because of the rope tension.
