4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• Keep children away and do not allow children
to operate this device!
• Only use this product for its designated
purpose!
• Do not manipulate or disassemble the device!
• For your own safety, only use accessories
and spare parts that are stated in these in-
structions or that are recommended by the
manufacturer!
• Never exceed the permitted roof load of your
vehicle. For this purpose, read the manual of
your vehicle or ask the manufacturer.
• Be aware that the driving behaviour of your
vehicle changes considerably when driving
with a roof load during procedures such as
breaking, side wind and when taking curves.
Adapt your driving behaviour accordingly.
• Remove all parts that may be lost before star-
ting your journey, these include air pumps,
drinking bottles, battery-powered lamps,
navigation systems, bicycle computer, tool
bags or baskets.
• Remove all bags from the bicycle before
tarting your journey.
• Do not use protective covers for the bicycle
during the journey.
• Always observe the greater height of your
vehicle with mounted bicycle on the roof,
particularly when driving on boulevards,
tunnels, underground and multi-storey car
parks.
• The bicycle cannot protrude beyond the outer
contours of the vehicle.
• Before each journey, check whether the
roof-mounted luggage rack, the bicycle hol-
der and the bicycle are secured and rmly
mounted.

• After having travelled a while, check whether
the roof load is still rmly secured and check
this afterwards at regular intervals.
• Never drive faster than 130 km/h when the
bicycle rack is mounted.
• Fasten the mounting bracket with a tension
belt onto the wheel rail if the bicycle carrier at-
tachment is empty when driving.The driver is
always responsible for ensuring that the load
and the load securing meet the regulations.
5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 ASSEMBLY OF THE BICYCLE CARRIER
ATTACHMENT:
The bicycle carrier attachment is delivered unassembled.
Take all of the components out of the package and place
them down in an orderly fashion. Make sure the delivery
package is complete. Each step of the work process is
clearly described and shows which components are
needed for assembly of the bicycle carrier attachment.
STEP 1: ASSEMBLY OF THE RETAINING BRACKET
1 x Retaining bracket with baseplate
1 x Lock screw M8 x 80
1 x Screw spring 10 x 60
1 x Knob nut M8
3 x Washer 15.8 x 8.5 x 1.2
Insert the carriage bolt from the outside through one of
the bars of the holding bracket.
Insert these components in the following order onto the
carriage bolt: washer, screw spring, and another washer.
Press the screw springs together and insert the carriage
bolt through the borehole of the other bar on the retaining
bracket. Push the two bars together until the threads of
the carriage screw protrudes approx. 15 mm from the bar.
Place the third washer onto the carriage screw and then
screw the knob nut onto the thread.
