SYMPTOM
EEP Error
Unit will not turn on.
Cannot zero the Scale, or will not
zero when turned on.
Unable to calibrate.
Cannot display weight in desired
weighing unit.
Cannot change menu settings.

Power cord not plugged in or
properly connected.

Load Cell damage.

Lock Calibration Menu set to On.

LFT menu set to On.

Incorrect value for calibration

Unit not set to On.
Menu has been locked.
Weight reading exceeds Power On
Zero limit.
Weight reading below Power On Zero
limit.
Weight reading exceeds Overload
limit.
Weight reading below Underload limit.
Weight exceeds six digits. Display
overflow.
Factory calibration data in memory
module at the end of the load cell
cable is not valid under LFT OFF
status.
Fail to read serial number from
memory module or serial number
does not match the indicator's under
LFT ON status.
Calibration data not present.
Batteries are discharged.
Calibration value outside allowable
limits
Attempting to exit the menu with the
LFT setting ON and the security
switch OFF.
Reference Weight too small. The
weight on the platform is too small to
define a valid reference weight.
Defender 6000 Indicators
REMEDY
Corrupted EEPROM data
1.
Check power cord connections. Make
sure power cord is plugged in properly
into the power outlet.
2.
Check power source.
3.
Replace batteries (i-DT61PW).
4.
Service required.
1.
Remove load on Scale.
2.
Wait for load to become stable.
3.
Service required.
1.
Set Lock Calibration Menu to Off.
2.
Refer to Section 3.12 Menu Lock.
3.
Set LFT menu to Off.
4.
Use correct calibration mass.
Enable unit in the Units Menu.
Refer to Unit Menu section for help.
1.
Set selected menu to Off in the Lock
Menu.
2.
Lockout Switch on the circuit board may
need to be set to the Off position.
1.
Remove load from scale.
2.
Recalibrate scale.
1.
Add load to scale.
2.
Recalibrate scale.
Reduce load on scale.
1.
Add load to scale.
2.
Recalibrate scale.
Reduce load on scale.
Calibrate scale.
Break the seal or replace the original
base/indicator.
Calibrate scale.
Replace batteries (i-DT61PW).
Use correct calibration weight.

details about how to set the security switch to
the ON position.
Use a heavier weight for sample.
