5 Preconditions for Installation – Important Information
Please follow the installation regulations, general guidelines, general hygiene
conditions and technical data.
The drinking water to be taken in must always meet the requirements of the
local Drinking Water Ordinance.
To install the filter choose a location that enables simple connection to the
water mains.
An approved backflow safeguard is integrated into the filter head.
The installation location must be frost-resistant and protected against direct
sunlight. Chemicals, solvents and vapours must not come into contact with the
filter.
When carrying out maintenance work on the drinking water supply, the bestmin
Optimisation System must be disconnected from the water supply. The water
pipe must be rinsed thoroughly before it is connected again.
The maximum operating pressure of the bestmin Water Optimisation Sys-
tem must not be exceeded. Warning! If the intake pressure is greater than 8 bar
a pressure reducer must be installed upstream of the bestmin Water Optimisation
System. The intake pressure is then set to 4 bar.
A minimum intake pressure of 1.2 bar is necessary for the function of the
water filter. In the case of fluctuations in pressure and pressure shocks, the sum
of pressure shock and idling pressure must not exceed the nominal pressure of 8
bar, with the positive pressure shock not exceeding 2 bar and the negative pres-
sure shock must not fall below 50% of the settling flow pressure (see DIN 1988
Part 2.2.4). With longer breaks in operation (weekend, holiday ...) switch off the
tap on the BWS intake. Observe DIN 1988 and local regulations for connection
and operation. The recommended installed position is vertical; horizontal opera-
tion is also possible. When installing a new or replacement filter cartridge, all parts
must be examined for completeness and transport damage. Faulty parts must be
replaced. If the above conditions are not observed, the technical function cannot
be guaranteed.
6 Function/Intended use
bestmin is a water treatmant system for mineralisation of low-salt water to improve
taste.. bestmin improves the quality of the water for use in coffee machines and
drinks machines.
Installation date
Before installing the filter cartridge, the date
of installation as well as the replacement date
(12 months later) should be noted on the label.
