Safety notes for installation in hazardous areas:
1) Install according to the manufacturer's instructions and other valid standards and guidelines.
2) The signal circuit may be operated with circuits with type of protection "intrinsic safety" or "increased safety"
(see Tables 2 and 3).
3) The signal circuit is safely, galvanically separated from all other circuits up to a peak voltage of 375 V.
4) The dependency of the permissible ambient temperature of the electronic housing upon the application and temperature
class is given in Tables 1 and 4.
5) The connection compartment (with increased safety) and electronics compartment may not be opened in the presence
of an explosive atmosphere when the instrument is switched on.
6) After the power supply has been switched off, the time below must elapse before the electronic compartment is opened:
7) If the housing is realigned, check that the locking screw is screwed tight again, see operating manual.
8) Special conditions (X mark):
During operation, the intrinsically safe signal circuit is grounded: for this reason potentials must be equalised along the
route of the cable (inside and outside of the explosion hazardous area).
8.1) If the signal circuit is realised with type of protection increased safety "e" (connection compartment Exe),
then the requirement for potential equalisation along the route of the cable no longer applies.
Note:
9) The pertinent guidelines must be observed when instrinsically safe circuits are connected together
(EN 60 079-14, Proof of Intrinsic Safety; e.g. when using the Commubox FXA 191, the handheld terminal DXR 275 or
other certified apparatus).
Safety notes for Zone 0:
10) Potentially explosive vapour/air mixtures may arise under atmospheric conditions only:
If no potentially explosive mixtures are present, or if additional protective measures have been taken, e.g. EN 1127-1,
the transmitters may be operated under other than atmospheric conditions in accordance with the manufacturer's
specifications.
11) Overvoltage protection:
The microwave level transmitter Micropilot FMR 130 may be installed without additional overvoltage protection on tanks
that must be protected against risk of ignition through lightning in accordance with German National Guidelines TRbF
100 No. 8. The potential equalisation terminal on the transmitter must be connected to the plant grounding system.
