These instructions apply to the following types of
Recaro seat:
Ergomed E, ES, Orthopäd, Expert S, M, L, Specialist S,
M, L, Sport, Trendline, Sportline, Topline, Sportster CS,
Cross Sportster CS, Speed, Cross Speed,

Installation parts
The following installation parts are contained in the
enclosed polythene bag.
Connection to the on-board power supply depends on
the vehicle type. The supplied connection parts are
suitable for most vehicle types.
Please note:
Installation of a seat is something which requires care,
patience and precision. Before starting installation,
make sure that you have parked your car safety and
that you have a secure footing at all times when
carrying out the work.
A1 Electrical connection of the seat
with built-in switch
(Figure A and D)
The following parts are include with the seat:
1 cable harness with plug (2)

circular tab (3) (ground connection)
-
1 tab receptacle (current connection)

1 fuse holder (4) with 2 spring contacts (5) and a
-
20 A fuse
Warning!
Unintentional triggering of the side airbag
and/ or of belt tensioner !
In case of unintentional ignition of the belt
tensioner or of the side airbag it may happen
that parts fly around.
This can cause serious injury.
Before starting:
Take out the ignition key.
Disconnect the negative terminal at the
battery and wait for 20 minutes.
1.1 Installation – Figure A

Connect the enclosed cable harness (2) to the
two-pole connector (1) on the seat.

Bear in mind the adjustment travel of the seat
when laying the cables.
Ground connection (-):

Fit the circular tab (3) to the end of the brown
cable (-).
4.
Connect this to a ground point on the car body.
1.2 Current connection (+) – Figure D
The red cable (+) must be connected to a terminal with
ignition current interruption. Depending on the type of
vehicle, select:
A Electrical seat connections
Version 1 – Connection A
Fuse location is available
In the fuse box, an unoccupied fuse holder with ignition

current interruption (e.g. terminal 15).

Version 2 – Connection A

A terminal with ignition current interruption on the non-
fused side in front of the fuse box.
In this case, the enclosed fuse holder (4) with the 20A
must be fitted in the red cable (+).
It this particularly important that you make sure that
the fuse holder is as close to the terminal as
possible and that it is easily accessible. Lay the
short, non-fused part of the supply cable with
particular care, so that no short circuit can arise
here.

Plug the red cable (+) onto the terminal of the fuse
holder with the tab receptacle.
Insert a 20A fuse into the fuse holder.

Put a spring contact (5) on each of the two cable
ends and connect them to the fuse holder (4).
Insert the supplied 20A fuse into the fuse
holder (4).

Look for a available ignition (terminal 15), not
used for a relay control module (not included in
the scope of delivery).
Interrupt the battery connection (+) and insert the
supplied 20 A fuse.
