d) Step 4: Loading settings
In this step, the device reloads the settings
(ultrasound power and irrigation flow rate) stored
at the end of the last session.
The settings are displayed on the control screen:
• In P function:
IEZOTOME
A light indicates the current mode (Figure 7, #4).
The fluid flow rate is shown on the LCD display
(Figure 7, #1).
• In N function:
EWTRON
The background color of the LCD display indicates
the current range (Figure 7, #1).
The fluid flow rate is shown on the LCD display
(Figure 7, #1).
NB: the first time the device is started up, factory
default settings are used.
e) Step 5: Activation of irrigation
At the end of the booting up process, the device
automatically starts irrigation. The corresponding
indicator (Figure 7, #2) lights up.

5. 3 SWITCHING THE ACTIVE CONNECTION

(LEFT/RIGHT)
The user can switch from one connection to the
other (Left/Right) during use:
• From the keyboard:
The left connection key (Figure 8, #3) activates
the left connection.
The right connection key (Figure 8, #4 ) activates
the right connection.
• Using the footswitch switch-button (Figure 6,
#4).
Every time the button is stepped on, the active
connection (Left/Right) switches.
The device immediately identifies the type of
cord at the active connector (P
N ) and accordingly goes into either
EWTRON
P function or N
IEZOTOME
settings associated with the identified connection
(side + type) are loaded (see Section 5.2.d).
NB: the keys on the keyboard and the footswitch
button will be inactive if:
- the device is emitting ultrasound.
- there is no cord plugged into the connector.

5. 4 PIEZOTOME FUNCTION

a) Mode selection
In P function, the P
IEZOTOME
keyboard is active (Figure 8, #7).
The device has 4 operating modes with pre-set
ultrasound power levels.
