Intended use

The Freevent Neckband is used for holding a tube or button
that connects to the trachea in place. It is a single use device
intended for adult and pediatric patients.
Not for neonatal use.

Warnings and precautions

Make sure that the Freevent Neckband is securely fastened to
prevent from disconnecting from the tube. To avoid infection
please replace the Freevent Neckband every 24 hours. Pressure-
induced trauma may appear if the Freevent Neckband is worn
too tightly.
Instructions for use
Freevent Neckband two-piece with VELCRO brand fasteners.
®
Thread both VELCRO and foam narrow part through the eyelets
of the tube neck flange; shortest piece first (1-2). Secure wide
VELCRO brand tab of short section to the long neckband
®
section at proper length and compression. Trim excess material
of the long section (3).
Freevent Neckband one-piece with twill ties.
Thread twill ties through the slits in the neckband (1) and trim
the neckband to adjust for neck size without cutting the twill
ties (Table 1). We recommend to make a knot on the twill before
tying it to the tube neck flange (2). Thread one of the twill ties
through the neck flange on one side and tie with a double knot
(3) to secure the twill to the neck flange. Then do the same on
the other side (4). Make sure both twill ties are tied and secured
tightly. Trim excess twill material with a straight cut (5) leave
some excess to be able to untie.
Disposal
Always follow medical practice and national requirements
regarding biohazard when disposing of a used medical device.
Reporting
Please note that any serious incident that has occurred in
relation to the device shall be reported to the manufacturer
and the national authority of the country in which the user
and/or patient resides.
