5.2.3 Hygienic cleaning of the reusable secretion canister

Overflow protection with ball
1. Empty the reusable secretion canister and dispose of the
aspirate properly.
2. Remove the ball before performing the following cleaning
instructions (Fig. 35(B)).
3. Rinse all components of the reusable secretion canister under
running water and let them dry.
4. Reinsert the ball according to Fig. 35.
It is also possible to place all components of the reusable secretion
canister into a water bath at 65 °C for 15 minutes for hygienic
cleaning.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the reusable secretion canister
after 30 hygienic cleanings or in the case of visible damage or
functional restrictions!

5.2.4 Disposal of the "OneWay" disposable liner
1. Loosen the pre-assembled connecting tube of the "OneWay"
disposable liner at the upper end of the T-piece of the "Bag"
external canister (Fig. 19).
2. Remove the "OneWay" disposable liner from the "Bag" external
canister.
3. Dispose of the "OneWay" disposable liner incl. suction tube
in a proper manner (see section 7.3 "Disposal").
5.2.5 Hygienic cleaning of the "Bag" external canister
Rinse the "Bag" external canister under running water and let it dry.
It is also possible to place the "Bag" external canister into a water
bath at 65 °C for 15 minutes for hygienic cleaning.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the "Bag" external canister
after 30 hygienic cleanings or in the case of visible damage or
functional restrictions!
5.2.6 Hygienic cleaning of the suction tube
1. Dispose of the suction tube properly before the device is used
by a new patient!
2. If the device is used for one patient only, rinse the suction tube
with clear water (max. 0.5 l) using the rinsing bottle after each
aspiration procedure and place it in a water bath at 65 °C for
15 minutes once a day.
3. Afterwards, rinse the suction tube thoroughly with clear water
and let it dry.
ASSKEA GmbH recommends replacing the suction tube every 4 weeks
at the latest and for each new patient, since the material may become
discolored and brittle due to frequent use!
