2. Bass reflex cabinet

The fundamental characteristic of this
design is that the airspace inside the
cabinet is connected to the outside air via
a tunnel, or duct.
If this design is adopted, the cabinet, the
duct and the chassis parameters must be
very carefully selected and matched,
otherwise an audible reduction in quality
will occur in terms of membrane overshoot
and bad transient behavior of the system.
However, if these factors are correctly
harmonised and efficiently matched to
each other, this type of speaker can
provide a lower cut-off frequency and a
smaller membrane
resonant frequency.

Line principle have proved in practice to give
excellent results.  has exploited this
principle for many years with great success.
In a transmission-line cabinet the sound
energy radiated from the reverse face of
the bass driver membrane is passed to the
outside air

The clear advantage of this design is the

reaching low bass. The disadvantage is a
certain non-linearity in the upper bass
