Hydraulic connection

Before realizing the hydraulic connection, the supply lines have to be cleaned thoroughly
to prevent the risk of metal or other particles entering into the water heater.
The installation of a sanitary connection is forbidden. In case of malfunction with devices
linked to a sanitary system, the warranty will not apply (for more information, contact the
after-sales service).
If flat seals are used, do not remove the gaskets on the outlets (blue for cold water inlet,
red for hot water inlet).
Install the water heater in compliance with the provisions and standards applicable in your
country (in France: D.T.U. 60.1).
3.1.
Marking the device's pipe sockets
All pipe sockets are made from steel and have been equipped with a male gas
connection Ø 20/27 (3/4").
The cold water inlet has been marked with a blue flange, the hot water outlet with a
red one.
3.2.
Connecting to the pipework
The pipework may be rigid - usually it is made from copper (black steel is impermis-
sible) or flexible (flexible standardized stainless steel wire mesh).
For connecting the hot water outlet, use the insulating connection sleeve included or
a cast-iron sleeve to prevent corrosion of the pipework (direct contact between iron
and copper). Brass connections are impermissible here (for France: NFC 15-100).
Even if VPE pipework is used, the pipes have to be sealed at installation.
A new 3/4" and 0.9 Mpa (9 bar) safety unit (not included) in accordance with local
standards (in Europe: EN 1487) must be installed on the cold water inlet of the water
heater. Connect the safety unit to a drain hose. It discharges any water expanding
when the device is heating up or evacuate water when emptying the device. The
drainage has to be outdoors, in frost-free areas and in a constant downward slope.
Install the drain line connected to the safety unit in frost-free areas and in a constant
downward slope.
If synthetic pipes (e.g. VPE) are used, a thermostatic regulator must be ins-
talled at the hot water outlet. It must be set according to the performance of
the material used. The drains used must be able to withstand temperatures of
100°C and a pressure of 1 MPa - 10 bar.
