4. hYdrauLic cOnnectiOn

Before proceeding with the water connection, it is essential to clean the water-supply pipe
properly to avoid introducing metallic or other particles in the tank.
DTU Plomberie 60.1 additif 4 (NFP 40-201) must be followed.
When using copper piping, the connection on the hot water outlet must be made using
a dielectric connector or a cast iron sleeve so as to prevent any galvanic corrosion (iron
copper). Brass connectors are not allowed at this level (DTU 60.5). The installation of an
approved safety unit or set, valve and safety valve is compulsory.
If the inlet pressure of the network is ≥ 5 bar, a pressure reducer must be assembled starting
from the general distribution. We recommend a pressure of 3 to 4 bar. Check when hot that
the pressure does not exceed 6 bar.
Install an air bleeder on the tank upper connectors (sanitary hot water outlet).
To prevent the installation components (exchangers, valve, safety unit) getting clogged up
with sludge, it is compulsory to put a mesh filter on the general sanitary cold water supply
where the tank is located.
The sanitary hot water in the tanks can reach a high temperature. Therefore it is compulsory
to install a solar type thermostatic mixer faucet before the sanitary hot water distribution to
the draw-off points. The temperature order at the draw-off points must comply with legislation
in force.
When using piping made of COMPOSITE MATERIALS (PER, PVC, etc.) it is essential

to install a temperature limiter at the tank outlet adjusted according to the performance
of the material used.
recommendations: For areas with very hard water (Th>20°F), the use of a water softener
does not affect our warranty as long as the water softener complies with applicable standards
and is checked and serviced regularly (Decree No. 2001-1220 of 20 December 2001).
