All components can be re-ordered from Ottobock. The individual compon­
ents are also available as a set (13E206).
6 Processing
6.1 Muscle Selection
Select the muscles according to their original function (e.g. flexor for the
closing function). Ensure that the patient can tense the muscle groups indi­
vidually and firmly.
6.2 Electrode Position
To find the strongest signal and the optimal position for the electrode we
recommend using the 757M11 Ottobock MyoBoy. The optimal muscle signal
can be usually found around the muscle belly.
6.3 Uniform Electrode Contact on Patient's Skin
To obtain the greatest benefit from the interference-suppressing common
mode characteristics, make sure that the pressure of the contact surfaces is
uniform and steady on skin with similar characteristics.
INFORMATION
Skin irritations have been observed in connection with the use of elec­
trodes.
6.4 Laminated Inner Socket
Flatten the areas on the plaster positive where the electrodes will be
attached, making sure the 13E203 Lamination Pattern (Fig. 1, item 2) is
completely flush with the surface of the model. Allow cast to dry. Pull on a
base foil, seal, tie off and apply vacuum. Remove the protective foil of the
lamination pattern and attach the pattern to the flattened area. To connect
inner to outer socket use the 507S15 Lamination Plates with Hole (Fig. 1,
item 6). Laminate the inner socket. Carefully grind away the material cover­
