6.1 Installation / assembly

For installation, assembly and operation, the respective national
regulations as well as the general rules of engineering shall be
observed (IEC/EN 60079-14).
The electrical connection may only be carried out by skilled
personnel accordance to IEC/EN 600479-14.
Incorrect installation and use of the terminal boxes type Ex-Cell XL-T
can invalidate the guarantee .
When a hinged lid is fitted, the enclosure shall only be mounted in a
vertical orientation on a flat surface, and care is required in the installation
process and when opening the hinged lid to ensure the enclosure does not
distort.
When a fully bolted lid is fitted, the enclosure may be mounted in any
orientation but it shall be on a flat surface. Care is required in the
installation process to ensure the enclosure does not distort.
Distortion will affect the sealing faces.
6.2

Mounting

The terminal boxes type Ex-Cell XL-T can be mounted without opening the
enclosure.
Terminal boxes type Ex-Cell XL-T are intended for wall mounting. They may
only be affixed at the given points and shall be positioned evenly.
The screw used shall fit the fixing hole and must not damage it
(e.g. use of washer).
The details of the internal/external earth stud assemblies can be found in
Fig. 6.1.
6.2.1

Enclosures with hinges

The terminal boxes should be orientated such the hinges are in
vertical alignment and for enclosures fitted with horizontal fixing lugs
(attached to the sides) the slotted lugs should be at the top, for
vertical lugs (fitted top and bottom) the slotted lugs should be at the
bottom.
6.3

Opening the enclosures

Do not over extend hinges when opening enclosure covers.
Cover with screws:
Care should be taken when opening fully bolted covers, as they are
not secured against falling.
The screws can be undone with a suitable tool.
