If you let go of one of the two operating levers then the splitting wedge will stop
and remain in the position that it was in when the lever was released.
-
If you let go of both operating levers then the splitting wedge will return
automatically to the top.
4.
Set the splitting wedge at the desired height by stopping it when it reaches that
height. The upper position of the splitting wedge should be approximately 3 to 5
cm above the top of the log. Let go of one of the operating levers or switch off the
firewood splitter.
-
Loosen the screw A with a suitable tool. Set the positioning rod B so that it hits
the stop at the desired height and fix it in place by tightening the screw A (Figure
7 on page 3).
-
Let go of both levers and switch the motor on again.
-
Check the new position.
5.
Place the log to be split upright on the work table under the splitting wedge. Make
sure that the log is standing level and independently on the work table. Never try
to split a log at a slant.
Always split the log down the grain. Never place a log in the machine
across the grain because that can result in considerable damage to
the mechanism and to the hydraulic system.
6.
Adjust the two operating levers to fit the diameter of the log.
7.
Clamp the log so that it is being held in a stable position by the two operating
levers. Then move the two operating levers downwards to split the log. You can
stop the splitting wedge by letting go of one of the two operating levers. Let go of
both operating levers to make the splitting wedge move automatically back up to
the highest position (Figure 12 on page 4).
Get the split pieces of wood off the work table immediately.
ATTENTION: An accumulation of chopped wood is a source of danger. Always
keep the surroundings clean and tidy to eliminate the danger of tripping over
something.
• Wooden logs come in different shapes. If a wooden log threatens to slip away while
it is being split, take the pressure off both operating levers immediately. Wait until the
splitting wedge has returned to its starting position again. Only then is it safe to bring
the wooden log into the correct position.
• Stop the machine immediately if it jams up against a knot. Remove the log from the
splitting wedge and reposition the log. The splitting wedge should not be allowed to
