Clear sufficient space around the machine so that it can be operated without danger.
Read the safety instructions attentively (see the „Safety Instructions").
Do not alter the machine in any way. Use only parts that have been
tested and approved by the manufacturer. Failure to observe these
restrictions can lead to unpredictable damage and injury.
• Do not use any parts that were not included with the machine as delivered.
• Do not make any changes to any parts of the machine.
Unpacking the machine (Figure 1 on page 2)
Together with a second person, carry out the following steps in the order given:
• Ensure that block B is supporting the packaging carton A containing the firewood
splitter at a point that is above its center.
• Support the other side of block B against a fixed object such as a wall.
• Place the wedge C under the tipped-back packaging carton to prevent it slipping.
• Lift off the packaging carton.
Fit the operating levers (Figure 3 on page 2)
• Pull out the spring A to release the locking device B.
• Apply a thin coat of grease to the places indicated on Figure 3.
• Insert the operating lever and make sure that the lever reaches the final position C.
• Now secure the lever with the locking device B and the spring A.
• Repeat the steps above for the second operating lever.
Fit the work table (Figure 4 on page 2)
The firewood splitter is provided with three preset work table positions. The adjustable
work table positions enable three different lengths of log to be conveniently split.
• Slide the work table into one of the three mountings D provided for the purpose. Fix the
work table in position by turning the hooks E provided on each side through 90°.
Fit the log holders (Figure 5 on page 3)
• Slide the log holders into the slot provided on the side of the operating lever with the
jagged edge A facing inwards.
• Clamp the log holder with the clamping screw B.
• Repeat the steps above for the second log holder.
