Electrical connection

DANGER – Risk of electric shock if connec-
tions are not or not correctly grounded or
from incorrect mains voltage.
Incorrect phase, neutral and ground connec-
tions can cause electric shocks, heart failure
and fatalities!

Work on electrical installations or equip-
ment is only to be performed by qualified
electricians or trained personnel under the
guidance and supervision of an electrician.

Even minor work on the electrical system
is only to be performed by appropriately
trained and qualified personnel.

The MT 788 is only to be connected to the
power supply if the mains voltage available
corresponds to the rated voltage given on
the rating plate.
¶
Check the grounding before connecting
the MT 788.
¶
Use the type of power cord specified for
the country concerned.
¶
Only connect to an appropriate approved
grounding-type socket.
¶
In the event of operating problems, switch
off immediately by way of the On/Off
switch, disconnect the power cord and
consult the "Faults" section of the opera-
ting instructions.

The MT 788 must be connected to a standard electri-
cal system provided with a residual-current-operated
circuit breaker with a connection cross-section of at
least 3 mm conforming to European standards. The
customer is responsible for providing fuse protection
for the mains connection.

The MT 788 is connected to the mains by way of a
socket. For this purpose use is to be made of the
detachable cable with standard connector supplied
with the device. The connector must always be readi-
ly accessible.

A two-pole residual-current-operated circuit breaker
of type "C" must always be used to provide fuse pro-
tection for the mains connection. Single-pole circuit
breakers are not permissible.

The temperature and ambient conditions specified in
the Technical Data must be observed for operation.
