Cleaning the device
CAUTION! Device damage! No water
may be allowed to enter the device.
CAUTION! Device damage! Never use
cleaning fluids or solvents for cleaning.
This may irreversibly damage the device.
The plastic parts may be attacked by the
chemicals.
– Wipe down the device with a damp cloth.
Cleaning/replacing the air filter
CAUTION! Device damage! The device
should never be operated without an air
filter, as this may cause damage to the
motor. If the air filter is damaged or heavily
soiled, it must be replaced. Only a foam fil-
ter element soaked with oil will filter out
the pollutants in the foam plastic. A foam
filter can only filter out the larger pollut-
ants. Lightly soak a new foam filter ele-
ment in oil before use.
Figure 8 – Page 4
– Remove the lid from the air filter housing (9).
– Remove the foam filter element.
– Remove coarse dirt from the foam filter element.
– Used compressed air to carefully blow out dirt.
Replace the air filter
CAUTION! Device damage! Pay atten-
tion to ensure that the vacuum protection
is always mounted behind the air filter and
is positioned correctly.
– Insert the cleaned/new foam filter element.
– Replace the lid of the air filter housing (9).
Checking the level of motor oil
CAUTION! Device damage! Each time,
before starting the motor, check the level
of the motor oil and, if necessary, top up
with motor oil. Operating the motor with
insufficient oil will damage the motor.
Direct oil and oil designed for two-stroke
motors will shorten the lifetime of the
motor. The motor oil must be changed
after the first twenty operating hours. Use
the prescribed motor oil (Fuel and lubri-
cants to be used – Page 52).
