Loading
1. Insert the CertoClav bottom plate into the sterilization chamber.
2. Fill the chamber with 1.5 liters of distilled water.
For CertoClav Essential, add 1/3 tap water
3. Place the items to be sterilized on the bottom plate.
Closing and locking
1. Check if the gasket is inserted in the lid.
2. Press the red knob and turn it clockwise to OPEN.
3. Place the lid on the chamber and turn it clockwise until the handles are in line with each other.
4. Turn the red knob counterclockwise to lock the lid.
5. Connect a tube to the steam release cock ,usual it is opened and sealed.
6. Plug in the power cable. Plug in the heater cable into the pot and controller. Plug in the
temperature sensor cable and screw it into the controller.
Starting a program
Select a sterilization program in the control unit and push start.
Venting
If venting is activated, then the sterilization chamber is vented at 115°C for 10 minutes.
Sterilization
In case of sterilization times longer than 60 minutes, close the black steam release cock after
the sterilization temperature has been reached. Turn knob clockwise.
Opening
Wait until the temperature of the Chamber is below 90°C. Turn red knob to OPEN and open
the lid of autoclave. If liquids have been sterilized, wait until the chamber temperature drops
below 70°C°. Otherwise there is the risk of burns from delayed boiling.

If you want to choose a new program in the control unit, consider the following sterilization
holding time for different volume of liquid media.
