• The dosage and amount of tea leaves depends on your personal taste. Basically,
2 to 3 g of tea leaves are good for 200 ml of water, meaning approx. 1 well filled
tea spoon per cup.
•
The water quality has a deciding influence on the taste of the tea. We recom-
mend using filtered water.
•
Very small tea leaves soak up the water faster than big leaves, the tannin there-
fore spreads out in the water more quickly. With longer steeping times, the tea
will become stronger (resp. possibly bitter) more quickly when using small leaves.
•
If the amount of water is at or just above 500 ml, you should make sure that the
tea leaves in the tea strainer are completely covered in water. If necessary, use
a spoon to push the tea leaves down in the tea strainer.
•
You can put home-dried or fresh tea leaves into the tea strainer or a tea bag. As
a rule, all tea varieties should be placed in the jug in the tea strainer, do not put
any tea leaves / tea bags directly into the glass jug.
s HEATING THE WATER TO A CERTAIN
TEMPERATURE (PROGRAM 6)
With the program 6, "Heat up", you can heat water to a temperature
between 50°C and 100°C. The temperature can be set in steps of 5°C.
•
Place the water-filled jug on the appliance base without the tea strainer. The
outside of the jug and the appliance base have to be dry, the lid has to be shut.
•
Connect the power plug to the power outlet, "Herbal 100°C" lights up in the
display.
•
Press the MENU button five times until the display states "Heat up 100°C". If you
wish to heat the water to 100°C, press the START button. A short signal sounds
and the appliance starts.
•
If you wish to set a different temperature, press the adjustment buttons ▼ or ▲
until the desired temperature lights up in the display. Start the heating function
by pressing the START button. A short signal sounds and the appliance starts.
•
Once the water temperature has reached 30°C, this is stated on the display. The
further increase in heat can be told from the display in steps of 5°C.
•
Once the water has reached the set temperature, a sixfold signal sounds,
the appliance switches off automatically and goes to standby mode after one
minute.
