Applying M1132A, M1133A, M1134A Sensors
Step
1 Select an appropriate sensor for the application (see Intended Use on
page 1 for patient applications). If possible, select a patient extremity free
from arterial catheter, blood pressure cuff, or intravascular infusion line.
2 M1132A/M1133A: Peel the protec-
tive strip off the sensor, revealing
two optical windows. The M1132A
and M1133A sensors have adhesive
around these windows to provide a
more secure attachment to the
patient.

4 Wrap the sensor around the extremity firmly, but not too tight, so that both
optical windows oppose each other. Use the velcro
sor to secure it in place. If necessary, secure the cable to the hand or foot
with medical tape.
5 Plug the sensor cable into the monitoring instrument's 9-pin female adapter
cable connector.
6 Move the sensor application site every four hours, or more often if
circulation or skin integrity is compromised.
Reapplying the M1132A, M1133A, M1134A Sensor
These sensors may be reapplied to the same patient up to 10 times using
the above procedure.
Before reapplying the M1132A or M1133A sensor, gently wipe the optics
side of the sensor with alcohol to rejuvenate the adhesive, allowing the
alcohol to dry before reapplying. Assure the patient has no skin reaction
from the dried alcohol
