18. Handling

• Observe all safety instructions in this manual! They provide you with
important information about dangers that exist when handling battery chargers
and batteries.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
Children cannot judge the dangers involved when handling chargers or
batteries .
• Avoid subjecting the battery or charger to the following unsuitable environment
conditions during usage or transport.
- Excessive humidity or damp
- Extreme cold (<0°C) or heat (>+35°C), direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, vapours or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows,
- strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or
• Place the charger on a level, firm surface. It must be large enough so that the
battery or battery pack attached can be safety placed alongside the charger.
Maintain a distance of minimum 20cm between the charger and battery (and
the power supply) to prevent them from heating each other up.
The battery/battery pack may not be placed on or under the charger!
• When setting up and using the product, make sure that the cable has not
been folded or squeezed.
• Never cover the charger and the battery! By preventing heat from escaping,
not only will the battery be destroyed, there is also a risk of fire and explosion!
• The feet of the device and the temperature of the casing may produce
pressure marks and discolourations on sensitive surfaces. The same applies
to the battery.
As already described in the safety warnings, a suitable non-flammable and
heatproof base should be used for the charger and the battery to be charged.
Do not place the charger or battery on expensive furniture!
• Maintain enough distance to flammable objects or surfaces.
• Do not leave the charger unattended while it is in operation.
