11. "LiPo CHARGE" charging program

This charging program is only suitable for LiPo batteries with a voltage of 3.7V
per cell which do not have a balancer connection. Never try to charge another
type of battery using this charging program.
If your LiPo battery has a balancer connection, the charging program
"LiPo BALANCE CHG" should be used, see chapter 12.
This is the only way to ensure that all of the cells have the same voltage
after charging and avoid overloading one of the cells. Overloading a cell
in a LiPo battery does not only reduce the battery's life, but also runs the
risk of having the battery explode and creates a danger of fire and
explosion!
The charge current to be set is independent of the battery capacity and is usually 1C. However,
you should take the battery manufacturer's instructions into account.
The value "1C" means that the charging current is equivalent to the battery's capacity. As such,
a charge current of 1.8A should be set for a 1800mAh LiPo battery at 1C.
Charge the LiPo battery as follows:
• After you have selected the "LiPo CHARGE" charging program and confirmed with the
"Start/Enter" key, the following display appears (example):

The value on the left in the second row shows the charge current, the value on the right shows
the voltage or number of cells in the LiPo battery (in this example, a 3-cell LiPo battery pack,
3x 3.7V = 11.1V).
• If the values need to be changed, press the "Start/Enter" key. The charge current begins to
flash. Change the charge current using the keys "INC" and "DEC", confirm the value using
the "Start/Enter" key.
The voltage then begins to flash. Change it using the keys "INC" and "DEC". You should be
aware while doing this that the voltage only changes with the number of cells (e.g. one cell
= 3.7V, two cells 7.4V etc.) Confirm the setting by pressing the "Start/Enter" button.
• To begin the charging process, keep the "Start/Enter" key pressed.
