The hollow screw (4) is adjusted using the Allen wrench. Tension is set by
the hollow screw. The force of the tension is indicated in terms of nume-
rical coding in the viewing window. If the setting displays „White" in the
viewing window (2), the dynamic unit can be disassembled or assembled.
The tension is minimal. The figures „1"-"7" signal increasing tension. The
assessment is made on an individual basis and depends on the therapy
selected. If the setting displays „Red" in the viewing window (2), the spring
is overtensioned.

Loss of function caused by overtensioning the spiral spring

4.4 Temporary locking mechanism
The dynamic unit can be locked at various angle positions from -20° to 90°
under tension using the slider (13) on the front. This makes it easier to put
on and take off the orthosis when the tension has been preset.
Locking:
1) Bring the orthosis to the desired angle position and hold it there.
2) Move the slider (13) on the front so that the red dot is exposed.
3) Slightly extend the orthosis until the locking mechanism engages with
audible feedback.
The orthosis is now locked in the flexion and extension direction.
Releasing:
1) Move the slider (13) so that the green dot is exposed.
