5. Maintenance and cleaning

After finishing your work with the CA Asbest unit, we recommend you to clean the unit, check all parts
and replace the damaged ones.
Do not use aggressive detergents and solvents for cleaning!
We recommend to use common non-abrasive cleaning products.
Cleaning products must never get into the PAPR unit or the battery!
Use damp cloth for cleaning and wipe the surface dry afterwards.
Cleaning should be done in a well ventilated room.
! Beware of breathing in any particles and fibers settled on parts of the PAPR unit or its accessories !
6. Spare parts and their replacement
Filters
Only original filters designed for CA Asbest® may be used! The filters must be new, unused and in the
original packaging. The expiry date must not be exceeded – marked on a sticker on the body of the filter.
Filter replacement: (see Attachement A1)
1. Unscrew the filter from the unit. (see Attachement A1)
2. Check rubber sealing under the filter for possible damage.
3. Only filters designated by the manufacturer for this unit can be used. The filters must be unused, in
an original, intact packaging.
4. Fasten the new filter onto the unit and screw it tight.
Battery
It is necessary to charge the battery before the first use! The battery must only be charged with the
original charger – using a non-original charger may destroy the battery while at the same time meaning
breaching of the warranty terms. Number of charge cycles of this Li-Ion battery is approximately 500
charge cycles.
Replacement of the battery
To remove the battery: (see Attachement A2)
1. Slide the battery's position lock open with your thumb.
2. Push the whole battery out of the unit in the direction of arrow.
Charging the battery: (see Attachement A3)
1. Slide the battery out of the unit.
2. Connect the charger into 100 - 230 V ~ 50/60 Hz network.
3. Connect the battery to charger. Charging is indicated by a red light, the green light indicates connecti-
on to power network. Charging time is 4 – 5 hours.
4. When the red light goes off, the battery is charged.
5. Disconnect the battery from the charger after charging.
6. Disconnect the charger from power network.
! It is not recommended to leave the charger connected in power network when not in use !

To replace the battery: (see Attachement A4)
1. Position the battery at the beginning of the rails.
2. Push the battery using pressure until it locks into its position.
7. Storage
All parts of the CleanAIR® system must be stored in spaces, where temperature is –10 °C to +50 °C and
relative air humidity (Rh) is within 20 % and 95 %. Storage time in an intact packaging max. 2 years. When
stored unused, the batteries discharge.

9. Warranty
1. Warranty for manufacturing defects is granted for 12 months since the date of purchase by the client.
2. Batteries have a warranty of 6 months since the date of purchase.
3. The claim has to be filed at the seller party. Upon filing a claim a sales receipt must be presented
(invoice or delivery note).
4. The warranty can only be recognized, if there was no intervention into the unit or the charger.
5. The warranty does especially not cover defects caused by too late replacement of a filter or by usage
of a filter damaged during cleaning or blow through.
The CleanAIR® Asbest PAPR system is approved in compliance with requirements stated in the European
standard nr. EN 12942, class TM3. All parts of the system in use must be approved by the manufacturer
and used according to the instructions given in this manual. If used contrary to these instructions, the
respirator may endanger health or life of its wearer.
